Where to get a proper brew on the prom
Let’s settle this. A walk needs a brew at the end of it — sometimes in the middle — and the prom is better served than it has any right to be. We rated every option on three things: tea quality, wind shelter, and whether the staff mind sandy boots. Price matters less than you’d think; nowhere here charges more than £2.80.
The van by the marina takes it. Proper leaf tea, a windbreak that actually works, and a bench angle that catches the afternoon sun. The café at the Otterspool end is a close second and wins outright in winter, because it has a roof and the van does not.
Honourable mention to the kiosk at Festival Gardens, docked two places for the paper cups that go soft before you’re halfway down. If we’ve missed your spot, write in. We will absolutely go and drink tea there in the name of research.
